I recently heard about this, but I was wondering what the hiking and guides are actually like. There are obviously not places to stay (officially) every night even for camping, especially in the center of the country. I live in Dodge City, which is along one of the routes, and it takes at least 30 minutes to drive between each town so unless you want to walk really far each day, you'd have to stop by the side of the road and just set up a tent, which would not be ideal here.

And how specific are the guides? My first long-distance hike this past summer was the Camino de Santiago, which has many very good guides written for it, with a lot of detail. Are there any good guides other than the ones created by the association itself for the ADT?
