I got a pair for Christmas last year - love them! Lightweight and durable.

Pretty sure there is a pair for me under the tree..because I gave the travel coordinates to my husband on how to get to REI.

I can add my endorsement. I don't use them often, but when conditions require them (i.e. icy terrain which isn't so steep as to require crampons), they are invaluable. I will most likely be using them in a few weeks in a climb of Colorado's high point (Mt Elbert 14,433). We will be camping overnight at treeline for those winter camping enthusiasts!

Elbert is on my winter list this year too Jon. It's a beautiful hike year round.

This will be my 3rd winter ascent of Mt Elbert--it's a CMC tradition to do the climb every MLK day.
