I can add my endorsement. I don't use them often, but when conditions require them (i.e. icy terrain which isn't so steep as to require crampons), they are invaluable. I will most likely be using them in a few weeks in a climb of Colorado's high point (Mt Elbert 14,433). We will be camping overnight at treeline for those winter camping enthusiasts!

Pretty sure there is a pair for me under the tree..because I gave the travel coordinates to my husband on how to get to REI.

Did he follow your directions? :P

Elbert is on my winter list this year too Jon. It's a beautiful hike year round.

Why yes he did! I get to use them on a glacier trek above Zermatt!

Oooo, Switzerland. Make sure to sing one of the sound of music songs while your out running around on their "hills", lol :)
