Hello from Michigan

Thought I'd say stop in and say Hi. I'm new to backpacking but not to the outdoors. I love camping and fishing so much that I thought I'd try something new.

So next july/august I will be spending a week up in the Adirondacks someone near Lake Placid. We have about 8 hikers going along. So I've been starting to pickup my gear now.

I've also got a group going to hike the Manistee National Forest in late spring/early summer.

So I have lots of reading and buying to do.

Anyways,, be ready for questions!

Hello Bob! Always good to see another Michigan Hiker. If you need any help, I'm local to the Detroit area and am certainly willing to help. There's also a great facebook group called "Michigan Hiking and Backpacking." It's worth the join, just a collective group of Michigan based hikers sharing knowledge and experience.
