Hi from North Dakota. I just thought I would introduce myself. I love to go camping and hiking. I usually go on at least one big camping trip per year. Two of the major trips I've done is a trip to Colorado and also I did a two week trip in Philmont, New Mexico. Something different is I use a hammock instead of a tent. Because of this, I run the site www.backpackhammocks.com. It just has tips and good hammocks.

So yeah, just thought I'd introduce myself!

Welcome to the forum, laschke. I'm from the midwest, Illinois. I, too, take one big high adventure trip per year. This year it was Yosemite. I've also been to Philmont - twice with my son and it was a great experience. My profile picture is me with a Philmont hat on. As you may guess, my trips are all with Scouts or Venturers. My last Philmont trip was in 2012, and my son has been a Ranger there for the past two summers. I've thought about hammock camping - I'm just not ready to invest money into more gear...
