Hi Mary! I'm from the NW Chicago suburbs. There's some great hiking in Indiana. Turkey Run State Park and Shades state park have some excellent trails. Welcome to the forum!

Hi hikerJen. Love Shades and Turkey Run. Both are near my home. I hike Shades frequently. I've also hiked the dunes in northern IN. Very close to Chicago area. So many worthy hikes in Indiana. Most people think it's all flat farmland. But if you get out there, there are some good hikes.
