I'm a 55 yo male , finally got my boys raised and am beginning to get back on the trails after many years. I am still an old school (Colin Fletcher )backpacker, but things have changed. The gear is lighter now ! That's good because I am older . And of course there's this whole "internet" thing .I'm looking forward to relearning how to take a walk !

Hi Wayne, the lighter gear can definitely be a benefit all around for high mileage and low mileage days alike...Or just make bringing along something else you might usually leave behind all that more justifiable. Welcome to the forum!
