Need Great Backpacking ideas

Hello Im Dan and my dog "Tiny Lary" and i are looking for some amazing backpacking in Colorado. Unfortunately we are not familiar with civilian backpacking rules, we want to take about a 2 week hike for our first colorado hike then move up from there one day hoping to accomplish the pacific crest trail... Any help would be greatly appreciated. also routes that you have taken in the past that you love i would love to hear about them.. Tiny and i thank you in advanced

So many great places in CO.  Flat Tops, Mt Zirkel, Never Summer Range, Maroon Bells, Crystal River and Ragged Mountain and my favorite the Wimenuche Wilderness Area in the San Juan Mtns.
