Early season, midwest backpacking trip... HELP

Hello to all!!! I am a newbie backcountry camper located in mid west Michigan. Let's start with the question. Where the hell do we go? My girlfriend and I are absolutely hooked after our first trip at Nord House dunes. We have a plan to take a trip at the end of the month. (2-/28 thru 3-2) Being beginners, having only just start collecting gear, we plan on heading south and not doing a winter trip in Michigan. We are hoping to not fly and drive. Keeping the trip.undsr 8 hours if possible. Leaving us with about a 450 mile range of travel. PLEASE HELP!!
