Snore problem

I am a clinical snorer who suffers from severe sleep apnea. I avoid shelters when I can and always carry ear plugs to hand out if I have to hit the shelter. I use CPAP at home, but a battery one is too heavy and impractical I've tried the nose strips and nose cone...they don't work on me.

Has any other snorer tried anything to prevent snoring? Am I doomed to be shelter outcast?

I started using the Breeze Right nasal strips recently and my wife says I am not snoring anymore. I normally snore pretty good especially when I am really tired.
