It really first started to hit me just after my 60th birthday. I was getting old(er)! Not old mind you, but older, yes. No more denial or excuses, no getting around it anymore. Time for some honest re-evaluation and facing the facts about Hiking Old(er). As we age, the same fundamental rules of hiking and backpacking safety exist, but now with a few new points of emphasis. First of course must be the physical realities of life...
