Vasque Monolith UltraDry Hiking Boot Review

The lightest hiking boot that’s offered by Vasque, the Monolith UltraDry Mid offers appeal for hikers and backpackers that desire the benefits that a waterproof / breathable, mid-height boot has to offer, but still want to stay light on their feet. While I prefer non-waterproof trail running shoes for warmer weather hiking and whenever possible, when conditions turn colder or anytime there’s snow on the ground, I seek a mid-height and waterproof footwear solution. While the Vasque Monolith seems like a perfect match for these types of conditions, it would be appropriate for those hikers that prefer a waterproof boot in summer conditions as well, and in perhaps all but the coldest conditions across the 4 seasons and depending on locale. A comfortable fit is the most important thing for any hiking shoe, and with the Monolith available in the normal array of sizes in both men’s and women’s versions…with normal or wide sizes available all around, it’s easy to find an option that will feet your feet well.
