Want to visit Yosemite and hike for a week - need advice and recommendations

Hi,

I am from Argentina and will be traveling to USA on August. My plan is to spend a week hiking around Yosemite.

What I need is some advice on where to start, which trails you recommend and some recommendations on what to take.

Just to clarify, I do have experience hiking (not in USA but in Argentina) so I have no problem with difficult hikes or carrying weight on difficult trails.

Sebastian, 

If you are going to be there in summer avoid the Valley. 

I like the trails off of State Hiighway 120,  White Wolf, Tuolumne Meadows and over toward Tioga Pass.
