Outdoor companies for trips

HI all,

Looking for recommendations for outdoor companies that offer US and or International adventurous trips like those offered by REI or Nat Geo, but not as expensive.

Organized trips always have big groups, they cost a lot and they go to the obvious places.  I don't get the attraction.  Google is the way to find them.  

Back country trips with no amenities can cost $250 a day or more. If there are some things that they provide, the cost can easily go to $350, or $500 a day. You can stay in a fancy hotel with room service for that kind of money.
