hoodie or not?

hi peeps,

Looking at a fleece top for layering purposes for back packing purposes, get it with or without hoodie?  Im thinking not but curious if hoodie comes in handy?

The hood is nice at camp when it's cold, but unecessary hiking. A hood probably works better with a lightweight fleece, and may be too much for something heavier. I saw a nice hooded feece years ago I wish I had but haven't been able to find since. I think a hood is more important on a puffy.
