southern utah trip

Headed to Zion & Bryce in May and looking for some suggestions regarding nearby mountains to hike and also cliff dwellings and petroglyphs nearby.  Found Delano peak not too far away which looks like a nice day hike, but up for other suggestions.   Appreciate any input. thanks

Delano could be snowy and/or muddy in early May.  If you're fine with a bit of exposure, Moapa to the southwest is a fun peak (right along the way if you're flying into Vegas), as is North Guardian Angel on the western edge of Zion.

Thanks for info.  Also considering mt belknap.  Assume that would have same conditions though.

Here is what Belknap was like at the end of April 2013 -- still plenty of snow, and the soil turns to horrid mud during the melt.  Late May might be fine, but early will be tough.
