Lost Attempt of the Lost Coast Trail

Last week I attempted to backpack the Lost Coast Trail in northern California. 
It did not go well, and I am grateful to be alive. My blog post http://higheredtechtalk.org/2015/12/06/i-lost-to-the-lost-coast will go into more detail but the gist of my failure related to not realizing that the low tides were the highest low tides of the year and when it rains on the coast it can turn into a typhoon. It was still an exciting adventure in a unique wilderness, but overall I lost in my attempt.
