Today is Earth Day

It's the day of the year when members of both major political parties and many special interest groups argue about what Earth Day means. Everyone seems to try to use the day for their own political gain.

I just want to have wilderness areas available for future generations, so they will have an opportunity to see the wonders of the trail.

If people over the last 150 years had not worked to save the wilderness which we now enjoy, just where would we be hiking and backpacking today?
