New guy from East Texas

Just wanted to check in and say hello to some fellow like-minded folks. I'm from a small town in East Texas and have loved the outdoors all my life. I've had less and less chances to enjoy it however as the demands of daily living have weighed me down. That is changing though as I have joined with a few friends over the past year for any outdoor excursion we can arrange. It's been mostly kayaking, but we have some backpacking excursions planned for the coming months. Looking forward to sharing tips, info, and stories with you good people!

Welcome to the site! I've only passed through East Texas, but have found backpacking in parts of Arkansas to be really nice. Where are the upcoming trips planned? I head that way on occasion so always looking for a new destination to explore.
