I always bring a paperback.  I like to read before I fall asleep.  It's very cozy.  I also bring my knitting (one small skein of yarn and some knitting needles - very light-weight).  I generally get up early, and it gives me something to do while waiting for others to get up.  It's also good for rest breaks.  

My luxury item is an exped  UL pillow. It makes the sleep thing better!

My luxury item that never gets left behind is my Kindle.  I love having the ability to carry multiple books, especially on long hikes.  No more ripping up paperbacks and including sections in the resupply boxes:)

My luxury item is my camera.  Because I said so.

Mine would have to be my Kindle....the basic model which is lightweight and the battery lasts forever. I can have multiple books which is nice since I read fairly fast. I can also put trail info on it as well

Luxury item is cigars if there is a campfire in the evening; however, not for while hiking (not fire smart).

Gotta have my coffee.  Starbucks Via may not be great but they are easy and keep me going.

It weighs a ton, but there really is nothing like hammocking in the back country. SO relaxing. Seating for a couple of people. Plus if you have kids along, it makes an amazing play structure. We nicknamed the hammock "the babysitter" after our last backpacking trip. They spent an entire day pretending it was a rocket, horse, canoe, etc.

My item would be the inflatable ground mat. I sleep so good when I use it, hot cool or rainy. I missed having a chair when I went on a 10 day hike so I hope I win this!

A small plastic ground tarp is great for sitting on for breaks and snacks and gives quick shelter in a storm.

My item is the Big Agnes Big Easy Chair Kit because a man need to sit down properly. A woman too. That is why I need another chair when I'm travelling in two so getting the Helinox would be prefect.

Wow, I think several of these are "have to have" items for me.  Coffee, for sure, in some form, if I'm camping.  Doesn't have to be fancy, coffee bags are fine.  And my teakettle.  I can make a lot of things (including coffee) with just hot water. 

My item is an older model of Helinox-perfect for those evenings around a campfire! This older version has a built in beer timer.

My luxury item is a pair of fake Crocs - nothing feels more heavenly than putting on those lightweight shoes after hiking 8-12 miles with 25lbs! And they keep my feet warmer and more protected than flip-flops!

My luxury item would be a good container of wine. It's great after a hard day on the trail to have a nice glass of wine to go along with whatever gourmet dehydrated meal my wife and I have whipped up for dinner.

My luxury items are my Crocs and my REI camp chair.

I just have to have my crushable pillow.  I know, I know, use your clothing bag, etc.  To me it's not even close to the same.  The most important thing for me on a long hike is a good night's sleep. Not as young as we used to be....

My Jet Boil stove.  It makes cooking on the trail really simple.  

pack stove espresso maker, great for those cold mornings and evenings on the trail.

My luxury item is a snow peak titanium double-walled titanium coffee cup.  I use the Starbucks Via packets, and if I can keep it cool enough heavy whipping cream.  I sometimes take along a handheld HAM radio transceiver, but justify that as a backcountry emergency communications device.

I can't decide between my inflatable pillow and my extra thick inflatable sleeping pad. Same reason for both; a good nights sleep is priceless, especially on the trail. Well worth the weight.
